    TLDR:

    • Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $517.19 million Wednesday, the largest daily total since May 4, while eight of 12 U.S. funds attracted capital.
    • BlackRock’s IBIT led with $284.7 million, followed by ARKB at $77.7 million and Fidelity’s FBTC at $62.4 million during Wednesday’s session.
    • The Treasury doubled long-end buyback caps from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation, starting September 9 and running through November 4.
    • Bitcoin traded near $69,514 after reaching $69,892, placing the price around its 200-day trend zone and near the midpoint of the 60,000-to-80,000 range.

U.S. spot bitcoin funds drew $517.19 million on Wednesday, marking their strongest session since May 4. The Bitcoin ETF inflows arrived while Bitcoin climbed above $69,000 for the first time in two months. Eight of 12 funds attracted fresh capital, showing broad participation across the group.

BlackRock’s IBIT led with $284.7 million, while ARK 21Shares’ ARKB added $77.7 million. Fidelity’s FBTC collected another $62.4 million. Bitcoin later traded near $69,514, up about 8% over 24 hours, after reaching an intraday high near $69,892. The move placed the Bitcoin price against its closely watched 200-day trend area during early Thursday trading.

Bitcoin ETF Inflows Broaden With BlackRock in Front

SoSoValue data shows Wednesday produced the largest daily intake in three months and 16 days. It also marked a third consecutive positive session for the U.S. products. Their combined net assets reached $84.31 billion, equal to about 6.08% of Bitcoin’s market value.

Bitcoin ETF inflows raised the cumulative total to about $52.79 billion overall. IBIT supplied roughly 55% of Wednesday’s intake, keeping BlackRock well ahead of competing issuers. ARKB contributed about 15%, while FBTC provided another 12%.

The distribution also matters. Eight funds gained money, rather than one large product carrying the entire result. That breadth gives the flow report more weight when assessing institutional demand across regulated vehicles.

VanEck’s Aug. 18 analysis placed 30-day net inflows at about $663 million, reversing roughly $2.40 billion of withdrawals during the previous month. Wednesday’s allocation equaled nearly 78% of that earlier 30-day total, sharply changing the recent institutional demand picture across regulated U.S. funds in one session.

The Bitcoin ETF inflows followed a difficult May and June, when repeated withdrawals weakened the market’s institutional bid. Flows then turned uneven through July and the first half of August. Wednesday’s figure shows larger allocators can return quickly when liquidity conditions improve.

Rachael Lucas of BTC Markets described the purchases as longer-horizon positioning rather than short-lived retail speculation. Such investors typically operate within formal compliance rules and can allocate larger amounts. Even so, one strong session does not establish a lasting trend.

Treasury Buybacks Lift Risk Appetite and Bitcoin Price

The rally accelerated after the U.S. Treasury expanded planned liquidity-support buybacks for longer-dated nominal securities. It raised the maximum from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per operation. The change covers the 10-to-20-year and 20-to-30-year sectors.

The larger operations begin September 9 and continue through November 4, the end of the current refunding quarter. Treasury said strong offers from market participants supported the increase. It will release an updated schedule later and revisit future sizes in November.

Long-dated yields fell after the announcement, while the dollar weakened and risk assets advanced. That combination reduced immediate financing pressure and supported the Bitcoin price. Jeff Mei of BTSE linked the Bitcoin ETF inflows to renewed risk appetite following the Treasury decision.

Regulatory news added another supportive factor. The SEC proposal introduces two tailored exemptions for certain crypto investment contracts. One permits offerings up to $5 million over four years. The second permits up to $75 million during each 12-month period, with added disclosures and reporting.

Technical conditions now create the next test. Analyst Daan Crypto Trades said Bitcoin made a higher high before testing its daily 200-day MA-EMA region. The region sits near $69,000 and may determine whether momentum extends toward $70,000.

$BTC Made a new higher high and is now testing the Daily 200MA & EMA region.

Bitcoin also trades near the midpoint of its wider 60,000-to-80,000 range. Daan expects volatility to stay elevated after the market broke from its recent compression. The Bitcoin ETF inflows provide fresh demand, yet repeated closes above the moving-average area would offer stronger technical confirmation.
